Benazir Taleemi Wazaif 2026 — Registration, Eligibility, Stipend Rates & Documents

If your family receives BISP Kafalat payments, you may be leaving money on the table. Benazir Taleemi Wazaif is a separate, additional cash incentive that BISP pays for the education of children in active Kafalat families — and unlike the main quarterly payment, this one is specifically designed to keep children in school.

Many eligible families never register, simply because nobody told them the programme exists. Here is exactly how it works, straight from the official BISP page.

What Is Benazir Taleemi Wazaif?

Benazir Taleemi Wazaif is a Conditional Cash Transfer programme run by the Benazir Income Support Programme for the education of children of active BISP Kafalat beneficiaries, up to higher secondary level. The purpose is straightforward: increase enrolment, improve attendance and reduce dropouts by adding a cash incentive on top of the family’s existing support.

The programme was piloted in five districts in November 2012, expanded to 50 districts by 2018, reached 100 districts in January 2020 and now operates in all districts of Pakistan.

Who Is Eligible?

The basic condition is that the child must belong to an active BISP Kafalat beneficiary family. On top of that, the age criteria for enrolment are:

Education level Age of child
Primary 4–12 years
Secondary 8–18 years
Higher secondary 13–22 years

The child must also be admitted to a school or college in any district of the country.

How Much Do You Get?

Stipend rates are paid per quarter, and girls receive more than boys at every level:

Level Per boy (per quarter) Per girl (per quarter)
Primary Rs 1,500 Rs 2,000
Secondary Rs 2,500 Rs 3,000
Higher secondary Rs 3,500 Rs 4,000

There is also a one-time graduation bonus of Rs 3,000 for girls who complete primary education — an incentive built into the programme specifically to keep girls in school.

The Two Conditions You Must Meet

This is not an unconditional payment. Two co-responsibilities decide whether the money keeps coming:

  1. Admission — the child must be enrolled in a school or college. This is verified once, when the child enters the programme. The first quarterly payment is released after enrolment.
  2. 70% quarterly attendance — from the second quarter onwards, the child must attend at least 70% of the effective school days in a quarter. If a child fails to comply for three consecutive compliance quarters, payments are suspended.

Attendance is checked, not assumed. If your child’s payments stop unexpectedly, attendance compliance is the first thing to check.

Documents You Need

To enrol a child, the beneficiary mother (or guardian) visits an enrolment camp or BISP field office with:

  • CNIC of the beneficiary
  • B-form / CRC issued by NADRA for the child
  • School or college admission slip containing the class and institution name, verified by the teacher

Verification of the B-form or CRC against NADRA’s database is mandatory before enrolment.

How the Registration Process Works

BISP does not simply accept walk-in applications at any time. Registration is run in phases:

  1. Micro Supply Capacity Assessment — BISP collects data on available school capacity from provincial education departments.
  2. Social mobilisation — BISP field teams visit localities to inform beneficiary families about the programme.
  3. Registration and enrolment — families are invited to registration centres or tehsil offices set up near them, and are also informed through public information campaigns.
  4. Compliance monitoring — attendance is tracked each quarter.
  5. Case management — complaints are lodged and resolved through BISP field offices.

If you have not been called yet, contact your nearest BISP tehsil office and confirm that your family is on the active Kafalat list. The most common reason for missing out is simply not being present when the registration drive passed through the area.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Assuming the main BISP payment covers school. It does not. Taleemi Wazaif is a separate registration.
  • Waiting for a letter that never comes. Go to the tehsil office and ask directly.
  • B-form mismatch. If the child’s B-form details do not match NADRA records, enrolment cannot proceed. Get it corrected first.
  • Attendance below 70%. Families sometimes assume payments are automatic. They are not — attendance is the trigger.
  • Not informing the school. The admission slip must be verified by a teacher; keep the school in the loop.
