Punjab E-Bike Scheme 2026 Phase 2: Online Apply, Eligibility, Monthly Installment and Last Date

Punjab E-Bike Scheme 2026 Phase 2: Online Apply, Eligibility, Monthly Installment and Last Date

If you are a student in Punjab and petrol prices have been eating half your pocket money, this one is for you. The Punjab government has opened Phase 2 of the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme, and this time the deal is far easier than before. You do not have to arrange a big down payment. You do not have to pay interest. You just pay a small monthly instalment and ride your own electric bike to college or university.

Applications are open on the official portal, and the last date to apply is 4 October 2026. That is only about two weeks away, so please do not wait for the final days.

What Is the Punjab E-Bike Scheme?

The scheme is part of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Green Initiative. The idea is simple: give students an affordable way to travel, cut down the money they spend on fuel and public transport, and slowly move Punjab towards cleaner electric mobility.

Instead of buying a bike outright, you get government-supported financing. The Punjab government pays a big chunk of the cost, covers the interest, and you pay back the rest in easy monthly instalments over three years.

Who Can Apply?

Phase 2 is more open than the earlier student bike programme. Students from both public and private institutions can apply, as long as the institute is recognised in Punjab.

You need to meet these conditions:

  • You should be at least 16 years old on the day you apply. Some reports mention 18, so please check the age field on the portal before you submit.
  • You must have a valid driving licence, learner’s permit, or juvenile driving permit.
  • You must be a currently enrolled student, with a valid student card or an enrolment letter from your institute.
  • You need a guarantor — usually a parent or guardian. The guarantor must have a valid CNIC and proof of regular income. Reports mention a minimum monthly income of around Rs. 40,000, but confirm this on the portal.
  • The mobile number you enter must be registered in your guarantor’s name. This is the mistake that delays most applications.

How Much Will It Actually Cost You?

This is the part students care about most. There is no down payment. The government puts in a Rs. 90,000 subsidy and also pays the financing markup, insurance, registration and token tax. What is left is a monthly instalment of roughly Rs. 3,000 for three years, paid through the Bank of Punjab.

Think about it this way: if you are already spending three to four thousand rupees a month on ride-hailing or petrol, this is almost the same money — except at the end of three years, the bike is yours.

What Bike Will You Get?

According to the specifications listed on the official portal, the e-bike comes with:

  • A 1,000W BLDC rear-wheel hub motor
  • A 72V, 30Ah LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) battery — known for durability and better heat stability
  • A top speed of 50–55 km/h
  • A digital dashboard, LED headlamp, and hydraulic shock absorption

Bikes come in two colour options: black for male students and pink for female students.

Documents You Should Keep Ready

Do not start filling the form until you have these scanned or photographed:

  • CNIC, B-Form, or Child Registration Certificate
  • Student card or enrolment certificate
  • Latest paid fee slip
  • Driving licence, learner’s permit, or juvenile permit
  • Guarantor’s CNIC
  • Guarantor’s income proof and recent bank statement
  • A recent photograph

How to Apply Online — Step by Step

Step 1: Open the official portal. Go to bikes.punjab.gov.pk. Please apply only on this site. No agent can get you a bike faster, and nobody should be asking you for money.

Step 2: Register on the portal. You will fill in details like your full name (exactly as written on your CNIC), email address, CNIC number, and gender. Use your own information — any mismatch will cause problems later.

Step 3: Fill in your student and guarantor details. Add your institute’s name, your enrolment information, and your guarantor’s name, CNIC and contact details. Double-check that the mobile number belongs to the guarantor.

Step 4: Upload your documents. Attach your CNIC or B-Form, student proof, fee slip, and licence or learner’s permit.

Step 5: Submit and note your application number. Save it somewhere safe. You will need it to check your status.

Step 6: Wait for verification. The department checks your student status, your driving document and your guarantor’s details. If applications exceed the available quota, selection may be done through e-balloting.

Step 7: Complete financing and collect your bike. If you are selected, you complete the Bank of Punjab formalities and then receive your e-bike along with a free helmet and safety rods.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Entering a mobile number that is not registered in your guarantor’s name.
  • Spelling your name differently from your CNIC.
  • Uploading an old or unclear fee slip.
  • Waiting until 3 October to apply. The scheme works on a first-come, first-served basis once your documentation is complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there really no down payment? Yes. The latest update in September 2026 removed the down payment.

How much is the monthly installment? Around Rs. 3,000 per month for three years, at 0% interest.

Can private university students apply? Yes, as long as your institute is recognised in Punjab.

Will I definitely get a bike if I apply? Not automatically. Applications above the quota may go through e-balloting.

Does it matter which city I am in? Earlier phases started in Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan and Bahawalpur. Confirm your district on the portal.

Is the deadline extended? As of today, 20 September 2026, the last date is 4 October 2026.

A Final Word

The scheme is genuinely helpful for students who travel daily and spend a lot on transport. But please, verify every number on bikes.punjab.gov.pk before you apply, because eligibility rules and quotas can change between phases. Never pay anyone who promises a guaranteed bike. The application is free.
